So, at 12:19 or so today our baby officially turns 9 months old. Do you know what he is, in summary? Busy. Busy, busy, busy. In trying to capture the picture above, we sat him up, but sitting him up is futile, cause he has to GO. Although, you know, he still can't really move.

You can see why above: he can't QUITE get that trapped leg out from under him. Some friends we saw this weekend told us that they knew a baby that couldn't get his leg out like that, and he just learned to crawl with one leg and two arms and his second leg stuck like that. Very funny --- Oliver is definitely trying to move, just not quite adept at it yet.

He loves to eat, will eat any vegetable, will feed himself bananas and cheerios, will lunge for your crackers and cookies (but will not quite be successful at getting them).

He also loves to talk --- he keeps up a not constant but voluble stream of chatter. His favorite is dadada, but he'll throw in an occasional AAH! YAAA! to celebrate something special.

He will snuggle but only for a second, and he will spend up to 10 hours in his bath if you'd let him. This weekend we found a water-proof book for bathtime, and he's in heaven, putting it over his head, picking it up, dropping it, etc. etc. He actually (we found) loves to have water dumped over his head --- will squeal with joy. So, goodbye penguin water-protecting hat, at least for now. He'd rather have the water in his eyes, thank you very much.

There is so much more to say, but I'll stop here.

One more thing he is: A delight.

I started hand-feeding him when he was 10 days old till he was 8 weeks old and able to feed on his own. It's like taking care of a baby....there's a scheduled feeding and we bought a heat lamp for warmth untill their feathers grow! I have hand-fed several of them (no intentions of selling them at all), but their cage was getting crowded, so we decided to sell to our local bird store and just have one, Joey, stay! And of course, bird stores pay more for hand-fed (tamed) ones because they can sell them for twice as much!
