So yesterday I got hit square in the center of my face by the ass of a falling teenage boy as he jumped off the stage at a show down in south side at the Rex Theater. Great show though, there was As I Watch You From Afar (a good set from Ireland), Touche Amore, Trash Talk, and Envy. We (me and Andrew) saw all but Envy, and it was a good time. Definitely effed shit up in the pits. Except I got elbowed in the head a few times by a grizzly bear of a young man who I affectionately referred to as "Number One Fan" all night. He literally tried to keep everyone away from him and the front man the whole time. He also put this demonic, eyes-half-rolled-up-in-the-back-of-his-head face on. Besides the mega man-groupie, it was bad ass. I think I survived fairly well moshing for a girl half the size of every guy there. Some people were cool and treated me like any other dude, which resulted in my nose bleed and scrapes on my back. Some others were just as cool and helped me up when I fell. Then again I was the only one that got knocked down all night. haha.
Andrew also put a $50 deposit at a tattoo shop in south side called In the Blood for the chest piece he wants to start in February. The artist we talked to seems pretty cool and she's getting started on the sketches some time this week or next week. Exciting stuff.
